The Certified Market State Analyst (CMSA) is a professional designation issued by BTCintelligence. It recognizes demonstrated proficiency in interpreting Bitcoin’s Market State through observable supply behavior, liquidity conditions, and structural market mechanics.
The designation reflects demonstrated analytical competence, not course participation or attendance.
CMSA certification is designed to establish a professional standard for analysts capable of interpreting Bitcoin’s structural condition through observable evidence rather than narratives, sentiment indicators, or price forecasts.
This is not a course completion credential. It is a demonstrated analytical standard.
CMSA Analytical Standard
Certification evaluates the candidate’s ability to:
Interpret Bitcoin market structure using supply behavior and liquidity conditions
Identify structural pressure within the market environment
Distinguish between price movement and underlying market state
Apply the Market State framework consistently and objectively
Communicate analysis clearly and logically
Explanations based primarily on macro narratives, sentiment indicators, or emotional interpretations do not
meet the required standard.
Certification Requirements
To earn the CMSA designation, candidates must:
Submit a Market State Report prepared and uploaded on a Friday (independent of the BTCintelligence Monday report)
Complete a 10–15 minute video analysis discussion to explain and defend their reasoning
Analytical tools, including large language models, may be used in report preparation.

Framing Session Graduate Path
CMSA Designation Review Fee: Included with the Framing Session
Graduates of the BTCi Framing Session may submit a final Market State Report for designation review.
The certification review includes:
Formal Market State Report evaluation
Certification review discussion
Final designation decision (based on BTCi standards)
Listing in the BTCi Certified Analyst Registry
CMSA designation badge
Completion of the Framing Session does not guarantee the CMSA designation. The CMSA designation is awarded only after successful review of the submitted report and a successful video analysis discussion.
Certification Challenge Path
CMSA Designation Review Fee: $695
Independent candidates may submit a Market State Report for certification review without attending a BTCi Framing Session.
The certification review includes the components listed above:
If the report does not meet designation standards, candidates may revise and resubmit or attend a BTCi Framing Session.
If the candidate later enrolls in a BTCi Framing Session, the $695 certification review fee will be credited toward tuition.
CMSA Standards

CMSA candidates must demonstrate the ability to:
• interpret Bitcoin market structure using supply behavior and liquidity conditions
• identify structural pressure within the market environment
• distinguish between price movement and underlying market state
• apply the BTCintelligence framework consistently and objectively
• communicate market analysis clearly and logically
Certification requires submission of a Market State Report followed by a live video analysis discussion demonstrating the candidate’s reasoning and framework application.
The CMSA designation is awarded only when these standards are met.
Professional Conduct
Certified Market State Analysts (CMSA) are expected to uphold high standards of analytical integrity and intellectual honesty when interpreting Bitcoin’s Market State.
CMSA designation holders commit to:
• presenting analysis grounded in observable market evidence
• distinguishing clearly between structural analysis and personal opinion
• avoiding misleading interpretations or unsupported claims
• maintaining transparency in the use of analytical tools and methodologies
The CMSA designation reflects not only analytical capability, but also a commitment to disciplined and responsible interpretation of Bitcoin’s market structure.
Use of the CMSA Designation
Individuals who successfully complete the certification process may use the designation “CMSA” (Certified Market State Analyst) after their name.
